Rebekah Circle
Minutes of Meeting on
March 20, 2007
Barb Barkowski, Circle Leader of the month,
called the meeting to order. Barb thanked Click for having us in her home,
and she thanked Virginia for the wonderful refreshments.
There were 14 members present.
The minutes were read and approved after
the following corrections were made: Carolyn Bentzen made stew for the UMW
meeting, Click did not. Carol and Click sent a meal to Fran Mc Cumber,
not
Carol and Skip.
OUTREACH:
Barb asked for suggestions for this months
Outreach. Dotty Jean suggested that it be given to the Scholarship Fund
thru the Church, to CHS Seniors. Click made the motion, Skip seconded it
& the motion passed.
SUNSHINE:
Skip reported that a birthday card was
sent to Bernice. She asked if there were any needs of cards to be sent.
Sue Forst thanked for the card she received after having her tooth pulled.
LTCC:
Skip and Barb visited Eleanor Jones, D’Anna
Lair, Donald Rice, Nina Hughes, Cecil Flom, & Ruby Scott. They had
very nice visits & also brought them St. Patrick’s Day Candy Treats.
Next month Joyce and Darlene will visit LTCC.
OLD BUSINESS:
A profit if $335. Was made at the pie
sale. This will be given to Macular Degeneration, and it will be kept in
the Big Horn Basin Area.
NEW BUSINESS:
On March 28 at 9:00 AM our circle will
clean the kitchen, we will then fold newsletters. Any time you can spare
will be appreciated. Barb asked us to be sure to sign the
Easter Brunch Sheet. Barb announced that everyone should have a
Prayer Partner, and she has the list. Barb asked for volunteers to host the
women for the UMW Conference on Sept. 28 & 29. The following
volunteered: Sondra, Skip, Diane, and Sue, if she is in town. Click reported that a very nice, large
donation of food for the schools was brought in by the Esther Circle.
Nancy will be making more purchases at Cosco. Click is arranging for
Elaine Mosher, school nurse, to speak at the Sept. UMW meeting about the
Breakfast Program. Click asked for prayers for Chloe Sheets,
(one of our Outreach Recipients). She has many health problems, and the
family is considering putting her up for adoption. Dotty Jean reminded us of the seed
program, she will be mailing them by April 1. Joyce reminded us to send cards to Dorathy
Heller for her 90th birthday. Send them to: Wendy Funk 495

Next meeting will be at Carol’s, Sondra
will be Co-Hostess. Program by Barb. Devotions by Virginia.
The meeting was adjourned.
Barb read devotions from a book entitled
"Alive Now".
Sondra did the program. "The Good.
The Bad. & The Ugly". The womenfor this month were: Two Women who
appeared before Solomon. Queen of Sheba, Jezebel, Widow at Zarephath,
Athaliah, & Huldah.

Minutes of Meeting on January
16, 2007
Rebekah Circle met at the home of Virginia Weathersford. Our Co-Hostess was
Patty Anderson. A delicious dessert of Strawberry Shortcake was served on
Fabulous China ! Click Hunter presided over the meeting. Our Circle is blessed
with three very capable leaders this year. They are: Click Hunter, Carol
Wagner,and Barb Barkowski. Click started the meeting by thanking Virginia and P
atty for their hospitality. There were 14 members present. The minutes of the
November meeting were read and approved after corrections were made to the list
of 2007 UMW Officers. Membership, Nuture, & Outreach will be led by Carol
Wagner and Program & Library will be chaired by Betty Marie Daniels.
CORRESPONDENCE: There was none at this time.
TREASURE’S REPORT:
Dotty Jean reported that there was no change in the status of our funds. She
asked if we all had received a Pledge Card, envelopes were passed around for our
pledges for 2007. Dotty Jean asked that we continue to collect Tabs from pop
cans for Ronald McDonald House. We should also continue to collect Betty Crocker
and General Mills box tops, and Campbell Soup labels for the schools.Seed
Packets are also being collected for Senior Citizen Gardens in Ohio. There is a
container at the Church. Click asked us to think about where our Outreach Funds
for this month should go. We will discuss this later in the meeting.
SUNSHINE:
Skip announced that she as not sent any cards out yet this year. She asked
if there were any needs of cards to be sent. A short discussion was held on
where the Birthday money goes. We think it goes to Heart Butte (Blackfeet
Mission). It was suggested that cards be sent to Ann Thomas, who is in a Nursing
Home on Lovell, and Bruce and Lois Nelson.
LTCC:
Carol Wagner asked for a volunteer to go with her this coming Monday,
Jan.22, this will cover Oct., Nov., and Dec. Lois Scott volunteered to go with
Carol.
OLD BUSINESS:
Click asked Joyce Jensen to report on the Mitten Tree. She reported that the
response was wonderful, she delivered 7 bags of Coat, Hats, Mittens, Scarves to
the Middle School, where they were distributed to the other schools according to
need by Elaine Mosher, School Nurse. There were many new items and large items.
Some were given to parents in need. Carol suggested that Joyce put a report and
"Thank You" in the Church newsletter about a very successful Mitten
Tree. Nancy Little reported that she purchased a large quantity of juice boxes
with the money she had left from the Breakfast Food Fund, she reported that she
still has some money left. Some items that are needed are: peanut butter
crackers, instant oatmeal,peanut butter and jelly, and breakfast bars. They
would like the juice boxes to be 100% real juice. Click suggested that this
request be made known to the whole Congregation because the need is so great. It
was reported that Deana Lair was visited by Smitty, her condition was not good,
at a later time Pastor Jan visited her and she seemed to be better. Carol will
visit her on Monday. It was suggested that she might be given a prayer quilt.
NEW BUSINESS:
Click asked Joyce if a card shower would be possible for Dorathy Heller’s 90th
birthday which is April 18. UMM’S Garage Sale is Feb. 24 . UMW has been asked
to bake and sell pies at the sale. Slices or whole pies will be sold, be sure to
bake in disposable pie pans. The profits will go to a Macular Degeneration Fund.
It was suggested that a sign be made to tell where the profits will go. Click
made a correction in her recipe for Eclair Cake. It should be "or" not
"and" on the chocolate !! Click announced that Rebekah is in charge of
the UMW luncheon in March, she would like us to start thinking about what we
could serve. Carolyn Bentzen asked to have someone take the program in Feb. In
her absence, Joyce Jensen will do it. Caroly will take the program in April.
Other "fill-in’s" for the book are: Barb will do devotions in March.
Sept. Program will be by Barb. Oct. Hostess will be Berniece Dowse. Click asked
if we wanted to have Prayer Partners this year. It was decided that we would do
this, and we will have them for the next meeting.
OUTREACH:
Barb suggested Hope House, which is an 8 to 5 program for handicapped
adults. They have a workshop and lunch is provided. A motion was made by Barb
and seconded by Skip that we make this our Outreach Program for this month.
Motion carried. $82. was collected. Next meeting will be at the home of Sondra
Dishong,Nancy Little is co-hostess, Program is Joyce Jensen, Devotions by Joann
Winninger.
PROGRAM:
The program was given by Skip Richardson. Following our program: "Women In
The Scriptures" , this month we discussed Jepthah’s Daughter, Manoah’s
Wife, Delilah, Ruth, and Hannah. Skip also shared some clothing that she brought
back from her travels.
Carol Wagner gave the devotions on "Our Hands". She also read from
a favorite book of hers entitled "Stories from the Heart"

Party at Sunset House
Minutes of Meeting on November 21, 2006
Rebekah Circle met at the home of Dotty Jean Thompson at 1:00 P.M.
Co-hostess, Click Hunter made a delicious desert. There were ten members
present. The minutes of the
October Meeting were read and approved after the correction of the spelling Sue
Forst's last name.
Nancy Little asked
the group to think about where are our Outreach Funds for this month would
go.
Two suggestions were made:
-
Nancy suggested
that we contribute to the free Thanksgiving Dinner to be held at the
Cody Auditorium on Thursday, Nov. 23rd.

Click Hunter
shared a newspaper article about a family in need of some financial
help, due to their daughter, Cloey Sheets, severe and ongoing health
problems.
We were asked to
think about this during the meeting.
Treasurers
Report:
Dotty Jean Thompson reported that there had been no change in
the status of our funds. The Outreach Funds for October were
dispersed as voted upon.
Virginia Weatherford
reported that Ann Thomas' apartment was cleaned, but there was a shortage
of money for the job done. Dotty Jean made a motion that Virginia be
reimbursed for covering the shortage. Click Hunter seconded the
motion. The motion was vetoed by Virginia. A discussion was
held about the Circle making this and Outreach cause in the future.
All agreed.
Correspondents:
Saundra read a beautiful letter of resignation from Linda
Buswell, explaining her need to leave her job as Secretary of the Circle,
as she has returned to work. Nancy suggested that we keep Linda in
our prayers, send her cards, and call her occasionally.
A letter of Thanks
was read from the Prayer Quilt participants for our contribution to their
cause.
LTCC:
Carol Wagner and Dottie Jean were not able to visit, they will make
that visit for sure this month.
UMW:
Each Circle has been asked to donate three dozen cookies from three
Circle Members for the Open House to be held on
December 9 at 6:00 PM. Click, Virginia, and Barb Barkowski
volunteered to do this.
Nancy reported that
$1989.80 was the profit made Soup and Salad Lunch.
Nancy reported that
the Second Mile of Giving was raised from $200 to $500 per year.

Business:
Click talk to Elaine Mosher, Cody School Nurse, to see if there
is a need for Breakfast Food Items. At the present time, there is no
need. We still have $29 left in this fund. It will be left
there until needed. The hats and mittens from the Mitten Tree will
be taken in at Christmas time.
New
Business:
Nancy passed a sign up sheet around for members to host,
co-host meetings, do devotions, and lead programs for 2007. She
also sent a sign up sheet around for those who will the Christmas Lunch
and Meeting. It will be held December 19 at 12 noon at the Sunset
House. Nancy extended an invitation to Pastor Jan. Linda Buswell
will be informed about the Lunch.
Nancy reminded us to
remember our Prayer Partners with a Christmas card or gift.
Click Hunter gave a
report from the Nominating Committee.

Nancy asked for a
volunteer for Circle President, she asked that we think about this
request.
Sue Forst reported
that she is now doing the Church Web Site. She would like our Circle
minutes to make additions to the UMW news on the Web Site.
Virginia announced
that she and Patty went to see Bev Dix in a hospital. She needs our
prayers and visits. Nancy will remind Skip to send her a card.
Outreach:
After more discussion, it was decided that this month's
Outreach would be given to the family of Cloey Sheets. A total of
$69 was collected.
Thank Banks were
explained to the new members. They are collected every year in
November. The money goes to the Missions.
Nancy is working on
Rebekah Circle updates for a new directory. She passed around the
present directory and asked for corrections and or additions.
Carol Wean and Sue
Forst, second time visitors, have decided to join our Circle. We
welcomed them with applause.
